Hajj (i.e., the pilgrimage to Mecca) is one of the best forms of worship and is one of the most sublime deeds because it is one of the pillars of Islam that ALLAH Lord of the Worlds sent with Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Hajj is conducted during the twelfth month of the Muslim lunar calendar. The rites of the Hajj are of Abrahamic origin. Hajj requires three to four days to complete its rituals.
Makkah, is in Saudi Arabia. Hajj is one of the five pillars of islam, and is done once in a lifetime unlike the other pillars that are done daily or annually.
The definition of the word Hajj is 'to set out with definite purpose'. This 'definite purpose' is to fulfil their duty to ALLAH Lord of the Worlds. In the Qur'an it is ordered by ALLAH Azzawajal that all capable (Financially & Healthwise ) Muslims must go on Hajj.
Umrah, on the other hand can be performed at anytime during the year. An individual, who is usually intending to perform pilgrimage, might combine these two acts of worship together. The whole ritual can be conducted in a few hours.
